Gloucester Residents Weekend

Organised by Marketing Gloucester, this 2 day event is the perfect opportunity for you to explore, experience and enjoy your city with tons of fantastic savings and special offers over the course of the weekend. During 11th and 12th February 2012 you can gain free and special rate entry to some fantastic attractions and tours of the city, discounts at various restaurants, pubs and cafes and savings on a wide range of retail and leisure offerings across Gloucester.

There is something to suit everyone whether it’s a fun filled family day out, some well deserved relaxation or a chance to top up on your historical knowledge. All you need to do is complete the enclosed form and take it to Gloucester Tourist Information Centre, along with proof of home address (such as a driving licence or utility bill). In return, you will receive your FREE residents’ pass for the weekend. Then you just need to show your pass to the places who are involved in the weekend to benefit from all the offers. These offers are exclusive to residents of Gloucester for the entire weekend, as long as you live in a GL1, GL2, GL3 or GL4 postcode area.

Each pass will entitle up to 2 adults and 3 children but a further pass can be obtained for additional members of the family (Limit to 2 per household).

Children must be accompanied by at least 1 adult to take part in the weekend.

Please note: passes will be issued on a first come, first served basis and will be subject to availability.

Pre-booking is required for certain attractions and tours and these are marked throughout the guide. Tickets for these (unless stated) will be available from Gloucester Tourist Information Centre, 28 Southgate Street. Tel: 01452 396572

Road Directions

Please note, these directions are to St Michael's Tower, which is situated directly in the City Centre.
From the North: Get off the M5 at Junction 11, at the roundabout take the 3rd exit onto the A40 (signposted Gloucester/Cirencester). At Elmbridge Court roundabout take the 4th exit (signposted Ross). At the next roundabout take the first exit onto the A38 and then at the next roundabout take the 3rd exit onto the A417 (St. Oswald's Road). At the next roundabout take the 2nd exit onto the A417. Keep left around Westgate Island and take the first left into Westgate Street. Follow the road around into Upper Quay Street and then turn left into Bearland. Continue forward on to Longsmith Street, there is a multi storey car park just to your left. Come out of the car park and turn left, walk up Longsmith Street until you come to the end of the road. Turn left in to Southgate Street and walk until you get to ‘The Cross’ (where the 4 main gate streets meet). St. Michael's Tower is just on your right.

From the South: Get off the M5 at Junction 12, at the roundabout take the first exit onto the B4008. At the Cross Keys roundabout take the 3rd exit onto the A38. At the next roundabout continue forward. At the traffic lights continue forward (stay in the left hand lane, signposted Ross) onto the A430, Secunda Way. Continue forward on this by pass until you come to a roundabout, stay in the right hand lane and take the 2nd exit (on to Hempstead Lane). Turn right into St. Ann Way and continue forward at the next 2 sets of lights. At the major cross road turn left into Southgate Street. Follow Southgate Street and continue on to Commercial Road. Take the first right onto Ladybellegate Street and then the 2nd right into Longsmith Street. There is a multi storey car park just to your left. Come out of the car park and turn left, walk up Longsmith Street until you come to the end of the road. Turn left in to Southgate Street and walk until you get to ‘The Cross’ (where the 4 main gate streets meet). St. Michael's Tower is just on your right

Public Transport Directions

Please note, these directions are to St Michael's Tower, which is situated directly in the City Centre. St. Michael's Tower is approximately a 5 minute walk from the Bus or Train Station. From the Train Station cross Bruton Way and go through the Bus Station. Proceed out of the Bus Station through the archway onto Station Road. Continue forward on to Clarence Street and at the end turn right into Eastgate Street. Follow Eastgate Street until you see St. Michael's Tower on the left.
