Gloucester’s historic Llanthony Priory will be transformed into a giant open-air cinema this summer for a special open air screening of the feel-good movie event of the decade, Mamma Mia.

The one-off event, will feature a massive screen, full surround sound, cocktail bar, DJs from Heart spinning classic tunes and up to 1,000 ABBA fans singing and dancing along to one of the biggest box office hits in recent years.

Gates will open at 7.30pm, with DJs from Heart 102.4 playing great tunes and then the film beginning at 9.30pm as darkness falls. Feel free to bring picnics (food only – drinks available on site) and rugs, cushions and camping chairs to sit on...and don’t forget fancy dress and your best singing voices!

Llanthony Priory is located in its own grounds next to Gloucestershire College and close to Gloucester Docks and the Gloucester Quays Designer Outlet.

Road Directions

From Gloucester City Centre head towards the A417 past Westgate Island and over Westgate Bridge. At the traffic lights before Over roundabout turn left onto the A430 (South West By Pass) heading towards M5 South and Bristol. At the next set of traffic lights go straight over and just past the college on the left is the turning for Llanthony Priory.

Public Transport Directions

Gloucester Bus and Train Station is about a 10-15 minute walk from Llanthony Priory. From the bus station head towards the City Centre along Clarence Street and then down Eastgate Street to the Cross. Turn left onto Southgate Street and head down towards the Docks. Once at Gloucester Quays Designer Outlet turn right onto Llanthony Road heading towards Gloucester College. The Priory is just behind the College.
