Road Directions

When arriving by car there are a number of Car Parks to choose from.

​The closest public car parks are Ladybellegate, situated on Longsmith Street, which can be found using the postcode: GL1 1HS and Longsmith Street Car Park also located on Longsmith Street, which can be found at GL1 2HH.

Alternatively you will find a Car Park on Westgate Street, GL1 2PG; the Eastgate Centre rooftop Car Park at GL1 1PA or the Gloucester Docks Car Park at GL1 2DP.

Public Transport Directions

By Train

If you are arriving by train, Gloucester Train Station (GWR) is approximately a 15 minute walk away. Exit the train station and head through town towards the docks. 

 

By Coach

If arriving by coach you will be dropped off outside the front of the prison, your coach will then park in one of the local coach parks and return to pick you up after your visit from outside the prison. Your coach driver will provide specific details on the day. 

Opening Times

* Gloucester Prison will be closed to the public from Monday the 17th July until Wednesday the 2nd of August, we're sorry for any inconvenience caused.
We re-open to the public on Thursday the 3rd August, you can book onto tours here or by calling 01743 343100. Exciting things to come when we re-open #watchthisspace
