The City of Gloucester has the ultimate events calender, not to mention its ongoing museum and gallery exhibitions, sporting events and thriving live entertainment scene.

Live music and dance will have people moving their feet throughout the year. The Gloucester Cajun & Zydeco Festival is the largest of its kind in the UK.  Jumpin at the Woodside brings a weekend of swing and Jive and every three years Europe’s oldest music event, The Three Choirs Festival returns to Gloucester Cathedral in August.

The Gloucester Festival each July, brings a celebration of carnival, fireworks and street entertainment to the city.

Gloucester Heritage Open Days in September, the largest if its kind in the South West gives you free access to over 100 events and buildings across the city and the year comes to a magical end through November and December with the Christmas in Gloucester celebrations.

Theatre and Live Performance in Gloucester  

Not only does Gloucester offer a range of top quality events throughout the year, you will also find an array of venues offering quality performances including theatrical, comedy and live music.  Gloucester Guildhall is the county’s most exciting arts and entertainment venue, hosting concerts, comedy, theatre and dance.  There is a cinema showing the latest movies.

The Picturedrome and the Kings Theatre are home to amateur dramatic performances and Gloucester Cathedral hosts concerts, exhibitions and events throughout the year

Sporting Gloucester

From watching world class sport at Gloucester Rugby Club and the Gloucester Cricket Festival to exploring the city on foot whilst taking part in the Cancer Research 10K run in October or racing in Dragon Boats at Gloucester Docks there are sporting events for everyone.
