Westgate shops offer something a little bit different

The Westgate Quarter offers a range of eclectic independent shops. From designer clothes to baby wear and from locally crafted porcelain to your favourite old fashioned sweets. The historic streets around the Cathedral make this the perfect area to wander around browsing the shop windows not knowing what you may find next.

There has been a quiet food revolution in Gloucester and the Westgate quarter has a number of excellent delicatessens where you can buy the best in local produce and food from further afield.

Cafe Culture in the Westgate Quarter

The Westgate Quarter has really embraced Cafe Culture and is the perfect place to watch the world go by.  There are an excellent range of cafes and pubs to meet all your needs.

From beamed tea rooms with pews for seats overlooking the Cathedral to an historic inn based on the site of the oldest pub in the Gloucester and tradition tea rooms opposite the House of the Tailor of Gloucester there is a somewhere for everyone to take a break from the Westgate Quarter Shopping experience.

Things to do in the Westgate Quarter

Once you’ve finished exploring the Westgate shops why not visit one of the visitor attractions in the area.  Start with Gloucester Cathedral location of the Harry Potter Movies before visiting another famous Potter at the House of the Tailor of Gloucester the location where Beatrix Potter based her favourite book.  Whilst your here don’t forget the Folk Museum which tells the rich history of Gloucester and is free to get in.
