The Giffords Circus company of actors, learned geese, tumbling pigeons, hawks, clowns, musicians and runaways is set to return to Gloucester's Llanthony Priory from May 19 - 23. The show, ‘War and Peace at the Circus’ will be another opportunity for Giffords Circus to show off their brilliant theatricality and glamorous take on the traditional village green circus.
Expect thrilling scenes inspired by this epic Russian novel re-imagined for a family audience. New costumes, new choreography, new artistes, and an original score by the Giffords Circus band, as well as Gifford's Circus favourites such as Brian the Goose, Tweedy the Clown and Red the Horse.
2011 also welcomes back Circus Sauce, the unique forty-two seat travelling restaurant that is part of the circus on tour. After the show, Gifford's serve a starlit sumptuous dinner, using fresh seasonal and local ingredients, to the artistes and the audience. Circus Sauce is also open during intervals for freshly baked cakes, traditional ice-cream, teas, fruit drinks and other tasty refreshments.
