Even More Events for Gloucester’s Heritage Open Days

With only a few days to go until Gloucester’s Heritage Open Days starts were pleased to announce that even more events have been added to the programme.
The Camera Obscura at St Michael's Tower looks out over the roof tops of Gloucester's fine buildings. It's a tilt and pan camera with a zoom that’s great for families to use and to have a birds' eye view over the city.
The camera enjoys magnificent views of Gloucester Cathedral as well as other city churches enabling people to appreciate the architecture in Gloucester as you can zoom in to see all the fine detail on the buildings.
Also there will be more musical events taking place, the Glevum Consort will be performing on Saturday 11th September at 11.00 at St Mary De Crypt Church and 12.30 at St Nicholas Church and the Age UK Choir will be singing on Saturday at St Michaels Tower at 11.00.
Heritage Open Days, takes place from the 9 – 12 September and all the events are free.
The weekend celebrates Gloucester’s fantastic architecture and culture by offering free access to properties that are usually closed to the public or normally charge for admission. Every year on four days in September, buildings of every age, style and function throw open their doors. It is a once-a-year chance to discover hidden architectural treasures and enjoy a wide range of tours, events and activities which bring to life local history and culture.
Gloucester Heritage Open Days are organised by Gloucester Civic Trust, Gloucester City Council and marketing gloucester ltd.
