City of Gloucester Cancer Research Run 10k Route and Road Closures Sunday 3rd October

The City of Gloucester, Cancer Research Run 10k event that will take place in Gloucester on Sunday 3rd October. Run 10k is a series of 22 fundraising events held across the country this autumn. This year Cancer Research UK hopes that 50,000 men and women will come together to raise £5 million to help fund Cancer Research UK’s life saving work.
The event will start and finish in Gloucester Park and the route will take in the Docks, Hempstead village, the Cathedral and city centre. Download a map of the route.
The roads around the city centre will be affected during the morning, with some road closures. The main roads affected are:
- Spa Road
- Southgate Street
- Commercial Road
- Kimbrose Way
- Llanthony Road
- Hempstead Lane
- Secunda Way
- Severn Road
- Ladybelle Gate
- Longsmith Street
- Berkeley Street
- College Street
- Westgate Street.
- St Johns Lane
- Northgate street
In addition roads leading onto these roads may be affected and participants for the event will be using the city centre car parks.
The road closures are planned for Sunday 3rd October between the times of 09:00 and 12:00, although most of the roads will be opened as soon as possible after the runners have passed. Cancer research UK apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and thank the people and businesses of Gloucester for embracing this event.
