A Drinks Reception is to be given by the Ralph Vaughan Williams Society prior to the evening concert at the Three Choirs Festival on 10th August from 6pm.
This is to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the first performance of the Fantasia on a Theme of Thomas Tallis by Vaughan Williams, which was first performed at the Festival in 1910, conducted by the composer.
Michael Kennedy, music biographer and writer - who new Vaughan Williams well in his later years, will be guest-of-honour and will be sharing some of his memories of the composer with us.
Admittance to the Drinks Reception is £10 per person.
