Cinema Under The Star - Mamma Mia at Llanthony Priory, Gloucester
2nd August 2010
Gloucester’s historic Llanthony Priory will be transformed into a giant open-air cinema next Friday (6th August) for a one-off open air screening of the feel-good movie event of the decade, Mamma Mia.
The event will feature a 35 foot wide screen, full surround sound, cocktail bar, DJs from Heart spinning classic tunes and around 700 ABBA fans singing and dancing along to one of the biggest box office hits in recent years.
Organiser Andrew Mitchell-Stead of marketing gloucester ltd said: “With over 500 tickets already sold, and scores of Mamma Mia fans promising to come dressed for the occasion and in fine singing voice, we’re due to have quite a night next Friday.”
“We’re very lucky to have wonderful, historic sites such as Llanthony Priory here in Gloucester, and we’re always looking to stage new, fun events in such locations to open them up to a wider audience.”
Llanthony Priory is located in its own grounds next to Gloucestershire College and close to Gloucester Docks and the Gloucester Quays Designer Outlet.
Tickets for the special screening, which is being organised by marketing gloucester ltd, are £10 each, and are available in person from Gloucester Guildhall, Gloucester Tourist Information Centre and Gloucester Quays Designer Outlet’s information desk, by calling 01452 503050 or book online
