The 10th annual Gloucester Rhythm & Blues Festival brings a mixture of local and national artists into the friendly atmosphere of the City centre of Gloucester. ALL EVENTS ARE FREE

SATURDAY 24 JULY

Paul Lamb and The Kingsnakes, 7pm Gloucester Park

The Rhythm & Blues Festival's contribution to the Gloucester summer festival Music Day.

Hailed by aficionados and music press around the world as Europe’s foremost blues harmonica exponent, Paul Lamb has forged himself a place in the history books as one of the greatest players of our time. He has won countless awards, sold record-breaking quantities of albums, and performed the world over with his long-standing musical compatriots, The Kingsnakes. Recently inducted into the British Blues Awards Hall Of Fame (alongside the likes of Peter Green, John Mayall & Alexis Korner), Lamb still continues to bring his infectious brand of soulful blues to a plethora of fans around the globe.

Willie and The Bandits

The band are embarking on a similar trail to those great British bands of the 70s such as Led Zeppelin, Cream and the Rolling Stones by trying to put their take on the blues into a different format and bringing it into the present, whereas the bands in the 70s sped it up and made it electric the bandits are taking a different approach to the rhythm section using more hip hop and reggae grooves.
