The glorious setting of Westonbirt Arboretum will once again be hosting a number of concerts this summer.

Acts confirmed include:

20/6/2010 - Blondie     

One of the most significant bands of the popular music era, Blondie emerged from New York’s celebrated new wave scene producing innovative music and scoring major hits worldwide with rock/disco, reggae and hip-hop songs. Fronted by the iconic

Debbie Harry, their groundbreaking material brought them a stash of hit singles including ‘Denis’, ‘Picture This’, ‘Rapture’, ‘Sunday Girl’ and ‘Hanging On The Telephone’. Few acts can match their 20 year span of No 1 hits that includes ‘Heart Of Glass’, ‘Atomic’, ‘Call Me’, ‘The Tide Is High’ and ‘Maria’. Classic recordings like ‘Plastic Letters’, ‘Parallel Lines’ and ‘Eat to The Beat’ have contributed to their 40 million + album sales to date. Blondie will release a new album, their first in six years, this spring.

One of Britain's best loved bands has announced a West Country date for the summer. The legendary Status Quo will be appearing at Westonbirt Arboretum as part of Forestry Commission Live Music.

Status Quo have become a rock'n'roll institution. A prolific touring and recording act, they have accumulated total world-wide record sales exceeding 118 million units, with 29 of their 39 album releases making the UK top 20. Classic hits like ‘Caroline’, ‘Down Down’, ‘Rockin’ All Over The World’, ‘Whatever You Want’ and ‘In The Army Now’ contribute to a presence of over seven and a half years on the British singles chart.

Status Quo duo Francis Rossi and Rick Parfitt have both been awarded OBEs in the 2010 New Year's Honours for services to music and for charitable work. This is complemented by a cabinet full of music industry accolades including: the coveted 'Silver Clef Award', presented annually by the Nordoff Robbins Music Therapy Trust for 'Outstanding Services to British Music'; Best Festival Feel Good Act from the UK Festival Awards; a Brit Award for 'Outstanding Contribution to the Music Industry'.

18/7/2010 - James Morrison                              

Following on from his first UK arena tour, James Morrison has announced he will be performing a couple of 2010 concerts as part of Forestry Commission Live Music where artists perform in spectacular woodland locations around the country.

James Morrison’s debut album ‘Undiscovered’ established him as an undeniably talented singer-songwriter. It has sold over two million copies yielding no fewer than five singles – ‘You Give Me Something’, ‘Wonderful World’, ‘The Pieces Don’t Fit Anymore’, ‘Undiscovered’ and ‘One Last Chance’. James was the biggest selling British male solo artist of 2006 and Brit Award winner in the Best Male category in 2007.

James’s second million plus selling album, 'Songs For You, Truths For Me' continues on the success of his first. Still in the charts over a year since its release it includes the hit singles ‘You Make It Real’, 'Please Don't Stop The Rain' and 'Broken Strings' featuring Nelly Furtado.
