New audio trails bring Gloucester's history to life
New audio trails bring Gloucester's history to life
1st March 2010
Discover Gloucester at your own pace with a new series of audio trails around Gloucester. The tours developed by Gloucester Civic Trust are either available from St Michaels Tower or Gloucester Tourist Information Centre or can be downloaded from here.
The first trail starts at St Michael's Tower, down Southgate Street, taking in some of Gloucester's architectural gems following an anti-clockwise direction around part of the Via Sacra.
The walks are called ‘Eavesdrop on History’, by following the trail, that’s just what you shall be doing. At each point on our walk we’ll be giving you some details about the building or scene or structure, but occasionally you’ll also hear other sounds, other voices - characters from the past.
The download includes all the audio tracks in MP3 format and a printable PDF map of the trail. If you hire them from St Michaels Tower or Gloucester Tourist Information Centre you will borrow a audio trail handset and receive a leafelt describing the route.
