Invest in Gloucester
10th December 2010
Hundreds of businesses and specialist companies are being targeted in a national campaign aimed at promoting increased investment in Gloucester.
The first-ever inward investment guide has just been produced by economic development staff at the city council. It is being sent to expanding businesses, property developers, commercial property agents and financiers.
Over the past 18 months around 150 companies have either started up or expanded existing businesses in the city.
Now the new guide will encourage more companies to do exactly the same.
The booklet is stacked with statistics about the location and available workforce, spending and comparable rental costs. It also contains ‘endorsement’ from a number of the companies that have settled or remained in the city as their ‘location of choice.’
Council Leader, Paul James, who is responsible for economic development and regeneration in the city, commented: “ We believe that Gloucester can offer investors something very special – indeed a lot of companies have already discovered that.
“ Now we have put together this guide which is packed full of the sort of information that businesses, developers and agents need when making their decisions.
“ We have a great story to tell and now we are doing just that. We are targeting the people that matter to make sure that they know what fabulous opportunities exist in our continued expansion as a modern 21st century city.”
