'Mystery shoppers' say Gloucester tourism staff are the best

'Mystery shoppers' have ranked tourism staff in Gloucester as the best
in the country.
They topped a national list of nearly 300 tourist information centres in
the exercise carried out during the summer.
The judges said staff provided an excellent service and were
enthusiastic and knowledgeable.
Now, as a result, the team based at their office in Southgate Street has
been short-listed in the south west region Excellence Awards. Winners
will be announced in November.
Council Leader Paul James, commented: " The team won gold last year and
it is a fantastic achievement for them to be short-listed again. The
mystery shopping exercise is part of the judging process and it shows
that our staff maintain a consistently high level of professional
service.
" We are thrilled for them and it shows that across the council we have
staff helping us achieve our ambition of being a top performing
organisation.'
