Crucible Exhibition Extended

Crucible Exhibition Extended

26th October 2010

The 'Crucible' exhibition at Gloucester Cathedral will be extended for one week until Sunday 7 November.

The decision was taken to extend the exhibition in response to visitor demand, which continues to be high.

"We know from feedback on our website and from visitors that there are still lots of people who want to see the exhibition but haven't yet had the chance," said Operations & Marketing Manager Bairbre Lloyd.

Next week, the Cathedral's Education Centre is gearing up for an influx of families during Half Term. On Wednesday 27th and Thursday 28th October between 10.30am and 3.30pm there are free family activities on The Big Draw and Crucible Crafts. Children and their families can get drawing and creating their own piece of art from clay, getting inspiration from the work of some world famous artists. Families who buy an Exhibition Map for £1 will get a free Children's Guide during half term week.

Visitors are reminded to check the Cathedral website for times when the Cathedral is closed to sightseers. People wishing to visit the exhibition are advised to avoid the afternoon of Saturday 6 November, when the Cathedral will be holding a memorial service followed by a confirmation service.

'Crucible' is supported by the National Lottery through Arts Council England.
