What's happeing over October Half Term and Halloween

13th October 2010

Yet another holiday is approaching and what better way to enjoy it than in Gloucester. Here is a sample of some of the events Gloucester is holding over October Half term and Halloween from craft workshops to Zombie Walks.

Gloucester Waterways Museum will be holding a Colours of Autumn themed week during October Half Term. There will be a series of themed drop in craft workshops from Monday 25th October until Friday 29th October between 11.30am - 1.00pm and 1.30pm – 3.00pm. This seasonal mix of art and craft activities will explore the colours, shapes and scents of autumn - that season of mists and mellow fruitfulness. Children can create a seed collage, print a leaf picture, make a moving canal boat figure or craft a waterway vessel. Special offer, one grandparent admitted free with each child.

Cafe Rene have gone all out for Halloween this year. On the 30th October the team have organised a Gloucester Zombie Walk, something never done in the city before. Hundreds of Halloween fans dressed in zombie themed fancy dress will be wandering the streets of Gloucester lead by Cafe Rene’s Renegade Crew.

What’s more, when darkness falls there is the chance to be part of something spectacular. The Cafe Rene Renegade Team are going to re create the iconic music video THRILLER! With the help of makeup artists, film crew and prop makers, the Greyfriars Courtyard area opposite Cafe Rene will be transformed into a perfect Halloween setting. There will also be entertainment in Cafe Rene’s Cellar Bar from 9pm. For more information please follow this link.

On 31st October there will be a headline show at Gloucester Guildhall, Attack! Attack! This concert featuring the Welsh Rockers as seen on Guitar Hero 5 is a fantastic way to celebrate Halloween and is only £7 a ticket. Doors open at 7.30pm. Please note this is for over 14s only and is a standing event.

For something a bit different this Halloween head to Nature in Art where they will be holding their annual Gift and Craft Fair on 30th and 31st October from 10am until 5pm. There will be more than 30 stalls offering items from engraved glassware to jewels and from collectable children’s toys to pressed flower decorations. A perfect opportunity to stay away from the spookiness of Halloween and to start potential Christmas shopping. Adults £2, Children free.
