The current coach overlay facility in Westgate Street Car Park is going to be moved with effect from 13th September 2010 on a temporary basis.

What will be provided in Westgate Street Car Park during this period?

The car park will have a new (temporary) layout with effect from the above date. It will include four coach spaces for dropping off and picking up. You will be limited to stay in one of these spaces for a maximum of one hour only. There will be no coach overlay in this car park.

Where is the new overlay provision being provided?

The new temporary overlay facility is up at St Oswalds Retail Park. Please see the plan overleaf for directions. This site will be manned, and has driver welfare facilities. There will be space for approximately 8 - 12 coaches. This facility will be available for parking between 8am to 6pm (although please note, no entry will be allowed after 4pm).

What do we need to do?

Simply follow the directions on the plan below. There will be some signs directing you as you drive through St Oswalds Retail Park. When you get to the overlay site, the security guard will lift the barrier for you to enter, and again for you to exit.

Why are these changes happening?

The City Council are working with Severn Trent to implement a flood alleviation scheme in Gloucester. Part of the works involve a chamber being constructed underground in Westgate Street Car Park, which means a number of spaces will be lost so the layout of the car park needs to be changed. Once the scheme has been completed in 12 to 18 months time, the car park will be returned to offer a similar facility to what it does now.

Drop off Points

There are drop off points on St Ann Way which is convieniently located outside Gloucester Quays and  for Gloucester Docks and Gloucester Quays in Commercial Road outside North Warehouse .
